Default how do i know how many teeth my flexplate has?

I was about to order a new on and was wondering how to tell how many teeth are on it....its a 79 vette with a stock turbo 350.....

I think I remember 168 but probably better to just count the teeth on your old one for sure.

If you have a GM production starter ... Look at the 2 starter bolts. If they're BOTH in a straight line 90* perpindicular to frame rail, you have 153T ... if they're in a staggered pattern you have 168T.

In all likelyhood, 168T.

i never knew that.....is the bendix gear the same? and they just position the starter differently?

My 74 4 speed had the 168 tooth but 4 of them were capped and 2 were impacted.
