6 Quart Oil Pan & Power Steering
Did any SB Corvettes come with 6 quart oil pans and power steering?
I've run a Chevy 6 quart oil pan in my '69 since '77 and thought it was an '70 LT-1 item. However I was planning to install factory power steering and it appears that I would need to go back to a standard 5 quart oil pan. All of the vendors selling PS kits say you can't run a 6 quart oil pan.
I thought LT-1s came with 6 quart oil pans and could be optioned with power steering. My 6 quart pan has a trap door type baffle that keeps the oil near the oil pump pickup even under hard braking.

I'm running the Hamburger Oil pan on my 78 and it clears the power steering. Well not exactly running it cause i'm about to fire the new engine, but with it all in and bolted up there's enough room.

No Corvettes with power steering came with the solid lifter Hi-Performance 6 quart pan due to the power steering interference. It could be a 63-65 or an LT-1 piece without power steering. As stated above the aftermarket is the place to go. For Corvette road race applications it is hard to beat an Aviad with all the trap doors and kickouts for autocrossing.
