Default Innova #5568 timing light How to use

Hello, I just bought a innova 5568 and i am not really sure how the timing works on it. The manual is a bit confusing. I have only used my old cheap timing light before this. I am trying to time my 350 camaro to get a feel for this light. Then i will do the dwell and timing on the corvette. Thanks Eric

If it is anything like a dial back timing light you adjust the light to what ever deg adv you want and then adj the dist until the balancer reads 0.

It is that and a lot more - Dialback Timing / Dwell / Tach / Voltmeter

The trick is getting familiar with the various little ICONS on the screen. It can be confusing! You need to 1) understand the manual 2) PLAY with it - press the various buttons and watch the icons change. Once you get used to the user interface, you will love it!

I have had mine for a couple of years and I find that, because I don't use it often, I have to review things for a bit before I get down to business.

I dropped and broke my 30 year old timing light. Bought a Innova 5568 and the instruction manual is not that great. Frustrating. Still playing with it all day trying to figure it out.

That's interesting - although I have never tried, I was of the impression that it was supposed to work with "electronic ignition" setups.

What behavior have you seen using it with the 6AL?

I have this timing gun and have been wanting to check and adjust the timing on my Camaro, but haven't gotten to do so. It's still brand new. I need to get to doing this ASAP to try it out.
