Idle Stop Solenoid Wiring Diagram
Does anyone have a really good wiring diagram for a 1972 454 showing the wires for the idle stop solenoid circuit?
I went to install a new solenoid yesterday (never had one when I bought it) and it worked about three times then quit. I ran 12 volts directly from the back of the alternator and the solenoid is good so something bad must have happened in the wiring.
I know my tan wire for the solenoid is so old the insulation is brittle but the wire strands seem to be ok.
I have 2 service manuals for my car but the wiring diagrams leave a lot to be desired. Not to mention they don't show the idle stop solenoid anywhere.
If I have to run a new wire, what is the best source for a switched circuit in the engine compartment?
