LS1 swap into 80-82
What headers are being used for LS1 swaps into 80-82 Corvettes?
I'm using a 4L60E. Not using side pipes.
Any done a LS1 swap with the Jeep steering box swap?
Thanks in advance.

LS1 Headers
You may not be able to find any for LS1 engines in a C3.
As an alternative, you might try the Hooker Shortys. They won't have the full pop of the long tubes, but you can more easily add the cats and have the pipes bent to fit at a muffler shop used to building systems.

LS1 in a 80-82
I was just wondering what might fit.
I used Edelbrocks mid length headers for my 79 Camaro Ls1 swap and Hooker shorty headers for my 98 Wrangler 4.8 swap.
I was hoping to run something with longer tubes.
Thanks

I tried to see how a pair of SLP Camaro headers would fit in the engine compartment by taking measurements and it looked like they MIGHT fit. The guy I bought my LS1 wanted too much $ for them so I passed. I don't know if shorty headers would be any advantage over stock C5 headers. Here is what I am intending to use:
As you can see from the second photo the headers come very close to the steering box and will require a heat shield. The manifolds are from a C5 and it looks like it will be very easy to plumb the exhaust back from them.

I used cast C5 manifold's on my 73.I paid $40 for them and used Por-15 on them. The only problem with using under car exhaust is getting tight bends around the 460le trans. The guy who bent my exhaust didn't have a mandrel bender so he could not make tight bends without collapsing the tubing.

The manifolds were ceramic powder coated. The coating isn't perfect and from the receipt that was in the box they came in it wasn't inexpensive but it does look nice and will possibly keep the manifolds a little cooler. Right now they have a few greasy handprints that need to be cleaned off.
You can usually find stock C5 manifolds over in the C5 For Sale section for very reasonable prices. IIRC I paid $75 for mine. The original owner paid almost double that for the powder coating.
