Default Electric fan thermostat question

I’m going with the Crown Vic electric fan retrofit for my 76. Does anyone know of a thermostat I could use that screws into the block? I’m not a fan of the kind that just sit in the radiator fins. They aren’t all that accurate, and when the fan turns on, it cools the probe too. DR.Jay remembered one he came across from a late model Camaro, but those shut at about 220-230. My water thermostat is 180 so I would prefer something a bit lower.

Could you point me in the right direction then? I've found lots of information on electric fans, none on this type of thermostat.

And I'll be sure to post install pics when I get to that stage

I would put the switch on the thermostat housing or on the manifold as close to it as possible. If you want to use and run at 180° tstat, the following part will work and they are GM. You don't want your fans running on the highway.

Here is a thermostat switch

Here is a pigtail

Here is a relay kit and good description of why to use one.

Here is a fan control switch I have used with my dual electric fans. The switch was suggested to me by a GM engineer. It's on at 200...off at 180/185 (I forget). I used it for a couple of years before I went to fuel injection and let the ECM control my fans. The GM part number is #3053190. It also goes by AC Delco #D1874D. Please note that a relay should be used with this as it's not for high current use.
