Default What is Normal Oil Pressure
I saw the post concerning 82 psi oil pressure. What is a normal for al out driving and then idling at a stop?

Mine runs around 40 psi at idle and slightly more when cruisin at 70mph

My '76 since new had run between 35 and 40 per the original guage depending upon rpm's. Since I started using synthetic oil about 10 years ago, though, the presure increased to 37/42.

I have always heard 10 psi for every 1000 rpm is all that is required.

I believe 10 psi minium at idle and 30 to 40 psi above 2000 rpm was factory normal for small blocks.
