Default QJet Hot Air Choke to Electric Conv.

When converting a hot air choke on a QJet to an electric choke, you need to block the vacuum port for the choke assy. What is the best way to accomplish this?

I would imagine JB Weld would do.

I just bought some vacuum ports caps. They come in a blister pack of different sizes and you should be able to get them at NAPA or any other parts store.

That will work and it's nothing permanent like JB Weld in case you ever want to switch back for any reason.

Also, do not forget to plug the passage between the choke housing and the carb body...should have a little white plastic tube in it at the mo, helps with the locating of the choke housing to the carb body. If you remove the choke housing, you will find it behind it.

Put a rubber cap on the hot air fitting on the outside of the choke housing, and then put a small dab of silicone sealant in the vacuum hole on the inside of the housing.
Be sure not to use the choke cover gasket when you install the electric choke, or it won't see ground to complete the circuit.
