And what type of fittings are you using on the heater hoses?
Did you have to cut down the side of the water pump to make clearance for those fittings?

Good thing aluminum is so easy to cut. Cut the side off the waterpump and the neck off the housing with my sawzall and tablesaw. Local guy welded the neck back on. The fittings are standard from Earl's or somebody like that. Note you need an a-arm solution that doesn't need shims for this to work.

what engine mounts did you use? I am doing a LS1/ T56 swap in my 64 that has steeriods also. I want the motor and trans as low as possible to minimize the mods I will have to do to the trans tunnel

Just added Steeriods to my LSX 418cid VETTE.
My 1st LS1 motor went in 2005..blew it up in 2008. My LS3 stroker has been in place since 2008... 08 LS3 block built by Texas Speed. I may have about 4000 miles on it. Oh Yeah I can run 10s and drive to the track...Drive anywhere really.

I have got some good info from this thread and if my 71 was not an original big block car it would have a LS3

Because I have A/C mounted high on the pass. side, I put my Elite Engineering catch can on the radiator support. There is enough room next to the radiator to mount it, although unscrewing the can is a bit more effort.

Moderators, wasn't this one of those sticky threads at the top?
It sure warrants being one if not. what a WEALTH of information!
I see a book(s) that could be written JUST from the tech presented in this thread.

And don't forget the "LS directory" which can barely be found now....and would give ever LS related question asked in the past few years a person to direct it to.
