Who out there has actually swapped an LS1/LS2/LS6 into their C3?

I vote black so it matches the other coupler. If you go red change them both to match the coil packs. The engine stuff doesn't need to match the body...but it does need to match itself.

I can take one of it this weekend on jack stands, if that will work. It looks pretty mean from the front. It also lowered the engine temp by 20 degrees on the highway. I don't think the 195 t-stat will even open at cruise speeds.

Buddy - what air filter and config (SD or MAF) are you running with that? Looks awesome! I gotta do something different soon - my intake temps are running way to high (> 150 when warm).

[QUOTE=martinsw;1561367599]K & N 4" cone with MAF. With the added air, my tstat never opens on the freeway. I'm going to have to swap the tstat out to a 160 ish version.

Here's a question on a different topic. My short-term goal is to get the front end of the frame assembled, mount the engine and trans, plumb the fuel system and get the engine running. I'm starting to shop for fuel system parts and I'm thinking of this setup:
tank -> replaceable cartridge filter -> Walbro 255 inline pump -> C5 Vette filter/regulator -> 5/16" fuel line -> fuel rail.
Summit has a good selection of cartridge filters and the rest of the stuff is readily available. What are you guys using for filters and pumps? Show some pics if you have them. Thanks.

What did you do with the vapor return line? I'm thinking I can just cap it off and use a vented cap, or maybe leave the ckeck valve or whatever the black box is attached and cap off its inlet.
If I remember right from a quick look at the LS1 wiring diagrams, the fuel pump is controlled from the ECU?
Thanks.

A pre-filter is an excellent idea. The return from the regulator goes to the original vapor return on the tank on the passenger's side near the top.
The PCM is set up to control a fuel pump relay. I have my relay wired to the ignition switch.

Some great Ls? Installs on the forum. Also lots of help!
I went for the bling but wanted something a little different. My setup is from Street & Performance (www.hotrodlane.cc). They have other conversion goodies also and a dlownloadble catalog. But they are probably the most expensive also.
Also, although I used a custom built tube-frame, it would pretty much have been the same install if I used a stock chassis.

70 LS1,
I am usually in the C1/C2 forum, however I have a 1975 Corvette Convertible that I was looking at an LS1 for. On your fuel system set up, I see you are using rubber fuel line. What type of line is that and what type of clamps and fittings are you using to contain your fuel pressure. Thanks in advance
