Default Installing my L88 hood scoop

I ordered a 5" tall L88 hood scoop from Vanacor's, very nice to deal with.
Here is some pics of the install:

That's a bigass hood. I'm envious, except when I think about how hard it'll be to look front right over that bulge.

Looks fantastic and I can't wait to see it painted.

Are you going to be posting progress pics and details as you go. I'm about to do a shorter version and will need all the help I can get.

Yours looks great. Did you do the trimming to fit the hood or did it come that way.

I'm confused. What's wrong with just installing a complete hood, or does that tall scoop not come that way?

You are right its big. but the only option was to leave the air filter sticking out of the hood or install the scoop. I have about a 1/4" gap between the filter top and the scoop. I'm gona paint it to match the wheels (argent grey) and latter I have two stripes painted across the top and the rear deck to match.

It came as a complete hood skin, I cut the scoop out and bolted it to the hood.
All I have left is to paint it and the under side of the hood to improve looks, I will post more pics when its complete.

I did not want to replace the hood, its got a custom paint job with pearl flames and was told it will be hard to match. So I thought the best option would be to add a scoop and paint it to match the wheels.

I cut a hole in the stock hood to allow the air filter to stick through, I am going to build and install a pan on the lower filter housing with a seal touching the bottom of the hood when closed. This will isolate the under hood area from the air intake, with the scoop installed it will draw air in from the windshield area as the cold air intake hoods do.

started out at $250, I had studs added to the inside with supports, raised to 5" and I had it built light weight. total cost crated and shipped was $400
