Rebuilding my 81 strut rods. Pressed out the outer rubber and internal metal sleeves. I have NOS replacement bushing which also have an external metal sleeve. Did the factory installed bushings have the external metal sleeve? Unless I am blind I cannot see the outer metal sleeve in the strut rod after the rubber and internal sleeves are removed. Anyone? no outer sleeve on the bushing, just the inner sleeve, then the rubber then the end of the rod

Thanks six Ft'r. Does this mean that after I sandblast the strut rod I just install the GM NOS bushings with the outer metal sleeve?
