Don't know what kind of carb you have, but you may have a float level problem.

Loading has got to be caused by running too rich. Foat level can effect this, leaking internal, wrong or blown power valve or too rich an idle setting or circuit

If you do a lot of starts in the garage/ driveway and run for a short time, you may want to try a hotter spark plug. :)

Ya know that is exactly what I do plus the plugs have not been changed in like a year or so......I amy try that as well as checking the carb over..though it is pretty much brand new

Alwayn678, Check your float level and also your fuel pressure. Edelbrocks will flood on more than 6lbs of pressure. Hershey :chevy

Sure enough :) I had to add a fuel pressure regulator to mine. Took care of all the "rich" problems.

Hershey,
I have Edelbrock 750. I plan to install regulator tomorrow....My engine is also running rich....The question I have for you is.....Screwing the Idle mixture screws in makes the mixture rich or lean?....Thanks in advance for your answer. Also what's the procedure for setting idle mixture?.....:seeya
