Default Timing cover seal

I'm replacing my harmonic balancer on my '80 and, of course, time to fix the leak at the front seal.

How on earth do I remove the front seal....what tool do I use?

I'm really not planning to remove the water pump and the front cover!!!

Removing the seal without removing the cover can be difficult, since a conventional t-shaped seal puller likely won't be able to get in there. you may be able to pop it out with flat screwdriver, or a hook shaped tool (like a dental scraper). Honestly, I'd probably just loosen the oil pan bolts at the front and take the cover off. It will only take a few minutes, and could possibly avoid a major headache with pulling the seal on the engine.
