Default Rerouting PCV Valve

If I change out my valve covers to the type that dont have the PCV hole, where are my options for rerouting the PCV valve? or does the valve cover breather vent the engine instead?

You need to run a PCV or some type of positive crankcase evacuation system. If you check the archives over on the C1/C2 Forum, there are a few guys who have come up with ways to punch a PCV into the non-PCV "script" type early covers and make it look nice.

I have been looking for new valve covers and every set I find that I like dont have a PCV hole. I figured I could put one in it but I hate to drill holes in something I just bought.

I went with the oil filler tube on a 65 vette with a small tube on it and a fitting for a 63 that threads into the base of the carb. It has a small hole in it , about 1/8 inch. Works as a PCV, no holes in valvecover. See the picture. The black hose that runs from the front oil fill tube to the rear base of the center carb is my PCV. You need the old style intake to do this though.

very nice setup. You have started me thinking. I just ordered a new intake manifold and it has the boss for an oil tube, I would have to drill it though. Depending on the valve covers I find I may just drill the cover and put a grommet in. Lot easier to replace the valve cover anyway.

Keep in mind that you don't have to put it in the top where it is obvious either...I have seen them going to the back of the valve cover, where they aren't noticable.

I had an engineer make an nice twist on o-ring fitting to avoid drilling out holes and cluttering the engine with breathers and oil caps.....
