Default 383 Stroker Build, Could someone Bench Dyno..

Well guys, the birdcage has been repaired, windshield frane replaced and body test fitted to the frame.
Now it's time to select the remaining bits for the 383 stroker.
The cylinder heads and intake I already have, and listed below are the rest of the kit that I think would work. Please feel free to make suggestions, and if someone could take the time, it would be really interesting to see what kind of horse power this thing would make on a Dyno Sims Program. Anyone Interested.....?

Hi Clyde,
You do know that it is Mother's Day here in the States? Plus down here in GA it is a beautiful day for a drive. I just happened to check my computer and came over here otherwise I'd be outside right now.

Your build sounds real close to a 383 that I am building. I'd be interested in your numbers also.

But I think you need to post piston info also or at least compression ratios.

Good luck.

Bman

Thanks bman. I appreciate it's Mothers Day, It's a lousy day here in Newfie, matter of fact, it's snowing here now, not a lot but it's snowing.
After re-reading my post I realized that I failed to mention that the builder is waiting for me to give him my specs for the piston type and that is partially the reason I layed the post. I am looking for suggestions on pistons. I would like something pump gas friendly maybe 10:1 if that's possiable. What he suggested was 9:1, but I love the sound of the high compression engine. What are you using in yours..?
I am flying off shore tomorrow morning, but will be checking the forum on a regular basis.
Thanks for the response, I appreciate any help you guys can give.

Hey Clyde,
I used to live way Upstate NY (Watertown). We had 2 seasons there also - Winter and the 4th of July - so I can relate to your situation!

I am using GM Fast Burn Alum heads. I will be using flat top pistons with about a 10.2-10.5 compression ratio. Aluminum heads can take the higher CR than iron heads and still use pump gas without detonation. You might have to adjust timing (retard it). But with a roller cam you should be fine. BTW, I am shooting for @450-475 hp..

Keep us posted.
Good luck with your build. The grass will be up before you know it

Take care
Bman

According to Desktop Dyno

9:1 compression

444 HP @6000 RPM
440 TQ @4500 RPM

10:1

466 HP @6000 RPM
457 TQ @4500 RPM

I didn't take the 1.6 rockers into account though. I think they change the cam lift but was not sure exactly how.

Thanks bman, now those are the numbers I'm talking about. I may have been a bit hasty buying my heads. My next door neighbour is the parts manager for Terra Nova Motors, our local GM Dealer. He just informed me that he could get me all GM performance parts for cost, oh well, just my luck.
Thanks for the input, I guess 10:1 is doable with aluminum heads.
Thanks

Thanks jhuff.
I appreciate the time. I have been planning to pick up the software myself, but as of yet haven't got around to it. Thanks again for taking time away from your Mothers Day .

Thanks
