Default Tach Cable Lube?

I need to lubricate my '69 tachometer cable. Would appreciate any advice on what lubricant to use and how to do it. Thanks

Thanks. Is there a way to apply it without fully disconnecting both ends of the cable?

Yes disconnecting under the dash can be a back breaking experiance.I have taken off the dist end -held the cable up and slowly dropped motor oil in spinning the cable at the same time.(dont over do it-several drops will do it)Leave the cable in the pulled up position for awhile. It will run down the cable.Put some paper or rags down under the dash in case you get too much in.
