Default Got my new AFR 227's and shaft rockers !

Finally I can get down to building this motor. Had to wait some time for heads but looks like they are worth the wait !

The intake ports are huge and while I haven't flowed them yet the fully cnc ported runners look awesome. They are going to make some powa for sure:

The bowl work is quite good as they unshrouded the valve nicely

The intake valve is big, 2.100" it almost touches the exhaust valve

The T&D shaft rockers 1.6 ratio, the intake is offset because of the big intake valve

Another nice looking setup. Wayne those should make a very nice setup. That looks to be just about the biggest valves a set of head could take for a small block. Impressive looking stuff.

I'm impressed that AFR finally addressed the oil over the valve stem seals and up on the valve cover gasket.

While they are bare I would take the die grinder to the oil return area and make it more funnel shaped.

NICE

Do you think the Victor Jr. is going to work ok with that motor? I am still going through some intake issues and am not sure how much of an air restriction issue I had, but even ported the Victor Jr. barely flows around 300 cfm per runner. That is why I went with the Motown, it flows a little more than 300 cfm, unported, as does the Super Victor.

Did you get the optional 2.08/1.625 valves in your 215's?

I wonder in a side by side flow bench test how the AFR 227 would compare to my 227cc Darts. I think that AFR might just win just because of bragging rights!

The Victor Jr. will no way flow enough air for those heads. Your gonna need a bigger intake. That said it should make some great power.

The Victor Jr intake is port matched to the heads by AFR, I will get flow numbers for the heads and then they will flow the heads with intake attached to see how I am doing.

I went with the Vic Jr to fit under my hood, may cost me a ponies we'll see

Congrats on finally getting your heads! What is the timing to finish the engine?

I can't say how well the Vic Jr will work w/ your combination, but I suspect they'll work just fine. The combination of AFR heads and ported Vic Jr work well on my big block.

Look forward to seeing more updates.

Beautiful CNC work, thanks for posting! Are those the Race CNC heads or the Competition CNC heads, and where did you get them and the T&D's? I'm ordering tomorrow...

They are the Race heads, I got them straight from AFR, as well as a Vic Jr manifold port matched to the heads. They sent me the T&D rockers as well, they are specifically designed for the 227cc heads

I have the same heads. What offset do you have on the shaft setup and what type of valve springs ?

I just ordered them today from adperformance. AFR recommended I go with the competition CNC version for the extra exhaust flow. He's checking to see if I can get a 1.8 ratio on the exhaust, otherwise t&d 1.7's all around.

Your pictures really helped and came at the perfect time. There aren't any other photos I've found near as detailed as yours on the new Eliminators.

I just got mine a few weeks ago. I went with the Jesel rockers. I'm just mocking things up and checking clearances now. Hopefully on the road next week sometime.

Got a new intake too.
