Has anyone used Fiberall on stress cracks
I am not exactly sure of the name, but it is a body filler/glaze. It is a two part body filler much like a Bondo product. However, this stuff has fiberglass in the filler for reinforcement. This stuff is hard as nails. From what I understand, once stress cracks develop I will be plagued by them forever. I am going to try this stuff to see if I can prevent having to patch with matte and resin. Has anyone else used it???

I used the west epoxy too. Coated the whole car only no filler. The same thing could probalbly be done with a 2-part primer.
Epoxies are better than polyester resins for several reasons. One is they are less brittle. Poly always uses a small amount of catylist with a fairly broad ratio. Epoxy usually uses a substantial amount of cat with a more exact ratio.
All the various bondos and stuff are either polyester with a filler or epoxy with a filler. The west system allows a choice of the filler and can be mixed to any thickness, syrup to peanut butter.

I agree totally. West System is much easier than bondo to work with, gives
you a much broader range of fillers, and results in much better finish overall.
It is great stuff for fiberglass work.

Techno and Blake-73 thanks for the reply. This stuff states that it is specifically for fiberglas applications. I am not sure if it is an epoxy base however. I do know however, it is some kinda tough. It hardens up like rock; much tougher than a bondo type product. The hardness tends to make me think it is an epoxy product. You have to shoot this stuff on to a mixing board with a gun which looks much like a hugh caulking gun. I guess I will be a the lab rat and do a little experimenting.

MoneyPit; Fibrall is made by UPOL company and is an excellant product, But I wouldn't use it for big cracks that are through the entire thickness of the glass. UPOL makes another product called SMC that is better for bigger cracks. Good Luck, Craig :chevy
