Default Fuse box removal?

How do you remove the fuse box on a 77? I believe I may have a short behind the box. I took the two long screws out and I pulled on the box. It appears to be loose but wont seperate from the bundle of wires under the hood at the firewall. It it because the box has never been out or am I missing something? Thanks

I'm not sure if the 77 is the same, but my 75 has a screw going through the plug on the engine side that holds it to the fuse box.

He's right, I have an 80 and there's 3 screws two on the inside and one in the center on the engine side , after you get them out if original it is sealed together, two people make an easy job. I did mine last year , my heater would not work and trace it to the fuse box , broken terminal for the heater wire, it should only take 1/2 to take it apart!! .002 Ron

I think you can line up the fuse box and install the 2 screws from the inside and then plug in the harness from the engine side and tighten that screw.
