Default Replacing Oil Pan

I am putting on a new oil pan on my '77. Should I put som silicon sealent on the gasket, or is the gasket sufficient to seal it.

thanks

if using the one piece blue felpro they suggest no sealant but if you read the directions they say dab in the corners.

Use the Fel-Pro one piece gasket. A small dab of silicon in the corners is all that's suggested but I have never had one of those leak on me.

i just put in the 1 piece felpro myself. the blue snap ins make it so much easier to install.

a small dab in the corners and then snap the pan over the plastic clips then torque to spec.

no leaks yet.
