Default 1981 Wiring Question

For thosethat have or are familiar with the 1981's, I am wondering what functions the set of relays, mounted on the firewall directly to the driver's side of the wiper motor serve.

The connections going in to the relays (or whatever they are) are bundeled with the CCC harness going to the carb and distributor connections, so I would guess that they have some function within that system, but that was just my personal guess.

Any help would be very much appreciated, thanks.

As an update, I saw some pics of a 1980 engine bay, and these relays are not there on the firewall, so that leads me to further believe that they are CCC related.

I know that's where the vacuum sensor is.

God bless, Sensei

MAP sensor is what I think you're describing (manifold air pressure). As the name describes, it measures the pressure (vacuum) in the intake manifold.

I'm guessing then that the MAP reading is processed by the ECM for the metering adjustments of the carb and/or timing adjustments of the distributor?

nate99 the relays are tcc and egr. both pick up vacuum and elctrical signals and send them to the ccc. the tcc is for the lock up torque converter. egr is exhaust related. hope this helps

Perfect. The EGR is long gone, and I will be wiring up a manual lockup switch for the converter until I can swing a manual swap.
