Anyone know of a reputable carb or performance tuning shop in the greater Chicago area? Having problems with an Edelbrock 660cfm Thunder AVS carburetor. Thanks in advance!

Years back, I remember looking for a local 'carb expert' who had a good reputation, but was unable to find any in the area. It was always "My cousin in Hanover Park is good with 'em, he works at Jiffy Lube" or worse - as referrals go. There are some out of state shops that will restore your carb to brand new (or better), but I'm sure its pricey. Give us more info on your car/engine. Are you looking for a stock, or stock-looking solution- or can you go wild, and modify her all you want?
Consider reading up on it. Maybe buy some books and manuals, and give it a shot yourself. Nothin' better than some pride knowing that you did the work yourself.

Fitter,
I'm down in New Lenox (South end of 355). I have not gone to this guy yet but I heard from two different sources he is good. Bob 630 357-5170.
I've never brought anything in to the following just run across them over the years: Corvette Mike - he is off 55 near 83. Also D & M Corvette Specialists LtdD in Downers grove and Corvette auto repair (847) 438-3600 in Lake Zurich.
let me know what you find out as I may need them soon - just got a 1972 running.
Good Luck
