Default Richmond 5/6-speed kits......

Okay...sorry this is drawn out,but trying to figure out the best way to advertise these kits, and what is available.
I just became a dealer for these Richmonds,so please work w/me alittle in the beginning.
I ran a old Doug Nash 4=1 in a Camaro many moons ago,and loved it,and leaning t'wards installing one of these in my 68.
I have done some extensive search on the internet, and this forum on these, and the install of these transmissions in Corvettes. What makes these nice is the gear selections available w/most of these trans. They fit the vette tunnel better, can be used w/all of the existing parts, except the custom made trans brackets that I am including, and the need for the original style "big turbo 400 yoke".These are all included w/Long shifters, and by all my research...are superior to the Hursts that are available for these trans. These will fit the stock shifter hole, and there is no need to modify the crossmember, nor does the driveshaft need shortened,so you can use the one that you have. Also, these are idea for the 3.08 cars, and 3.36s,and if you have higher gears, then cheaper to change the trans gears when ordering, than changing the rearend gears.
I have had some phone calls about these, and pms,and wanted to get this up,and available, but will be adding the complete conversions for the auto to manual conversion, and as always....I have scattershields available, performance clutch kits for ANY horsepower setups,Hyd. clutch/sl;ave setups, aluminum flywheels,steel,billet,LS1 flywheels, bellhousings, etc.I', more than willing to work w/you,and put together a kit for you. That's not a problem.
Until I get all the extras together, and posted..if someone is interested, then please pm me,and will get you taken care of.
I am still selling the TKOs,and they are GREAT transmissions, but I ran one of these, and was very pleased years ago,and these have been around for along time, and made right in SC.I just wanted to be alittle more versatile, but sold a TKO kit today.
All the trans will be shipped directly from Richmond, and all trans have a 1 year manufacturer warranty.
One more thing...as much as I hate to put this in words...I can beat Summitt, and Jegs on all these kits, and the additional items in the kits, except for the 6-speeds.They apparently buy in BULK,and are a couple hundred cheaper than me,so I would shop there,if you are wanting to go this route.I will sale you the "extra" parts needed to get this in your ride tho'.If I can do okay w/these,then the pricing will come down further, but right now they are cheaper on this one item.

Gary...I can next week.I have them at the local machine shop being finished up.I used buddydeberry's template to drop off at the shop.Contact him.I am changing it alittle, but he sent me very detailed pictures, and a very nice drawing of the template to use.
He put the ROD in a 73,and a 80,and his friend's 73,and went well.
Try to contact him,and if no go for some reason, then pm me,and will forward the info. provided, and the pictures.I'm sure he wont mind.Or wait until next week, and I will have some as long as no big jobs come into the machine shop.

Thanks, post a pic when you can.
BTW, you might add a shifter that looks like the original 4 speed shifter.
The 3 speed or aftermarket Hurst shifter lever bolts to the Long shifter assembly and looks exactly like the original Muncie shifter inside the car.

See...this is where I make a fool of myself. We are closing on the house/shop,and don't have the free money to buy,and do a install for myself right now,and didn't know the shifter handle will work.I sale them, and have several here, and what I use in my TKO kits.
These right?

Please post some pics. Most guys...myself included, would rather have the Corvette style shifter look.
Thanks.
Hey if you are being held up on the install because of the trans mount bracket...get me a email address, and will get you this template.Buddy just used angle iron, and made it to adjust to the right angle/heigth before he finished the install. The Richmond install manual says that the trans mount is 3.75" back further than the stock location, and the trans needs to be 9/16ths lower.I would make a bracket, and get the trans were you need it w/the bracket unattached, and get your heigth, then weld it in place,or make it so it bolts to the crossmember.
These cars seem to vary alittle,so I going to offer shims in the kits for the install, also.
Did you use a needle pilot bushing,or a brass one?I offered the needle roller in the above, just because they are the craze, and Tremec recommends to use these w/the TKOs that I sale, but a forum member over in the C2 general section posted that ALOT of problems arise from the needle rollers when installed w/TKOs,and RGs.Something you may want to consider, and look at.

That's the handle, bolts directly to the Long shifter assembly.
As for the trans mount, I saw his design but made one out of C channel (open side down) with the front of it bent back to bolt to the crossmember "ears". It looks like a little sturdier. The problem is that the standard 2" deep trans mounts overlap onto the crossmember. I think he cut down his crossmember to eliminate this issue. So I've been looking for a trans mount that isnt so deep. Or I might just make my own today. BTW, I should mention mine is an LS conversion, so my engine positin might be a little off of stock.
One thing about that 9/16th measurement. I'm pretty sure it refers to the height relative to the existing crossmember, not the mount height of the Muncie. The mucie mount height was 9/16 lower and forward of the crossmember.

Default Can you tell me how long that thing is?

From the top of the ball to the bottom end (below the bolt-holes)?

And can you confirm that it will bolt onto the ROD Long-shifter?

Thx

I can't.PM the other member who posted, and make sure it is what he has. These are all the same, and bolt to the Hurst shifters, the TKOs,and by the forum member...the Long shifters.
These are the handles that all the vendors sale, but make sure, and shoot me a pm.

Here's a pic of the shift lever listed as being from the Hurst aftermaket shifter. Bolts to the Long shifter assembly fine. The length is the same as the standard Long shifter. This is on the 6 speed ROD.
The reverse T handle is even spring loaded, although it doesn't do anything on the ROD.

No problem. BTW, I came up with a simple, cheap way to mount the trans on a non-removable crossmember. Check out thr last page of the LS sticky.

What are the gear ratio options on the 6 speed without going for the custom sets? Is there any other modifications other than the trans mount that need to be made? (shorter driveshaft, trans tunnel clearance etc.....)

The trans tunnels are fine, but tight. The C2s are the ones really tight. The trans yoke is a Turbo 400 32 spline yoke, and the driveshaft is the same as the car has.You may need to get a different u-joint to mount the yoke, but they are CHEAP!.

The 6-speed ROD is AA ratio...3.28,2.13,1.57,1.24,1.00,and .76OD.

I will have a trans mount this week from the shop that I have making them,or you can make one pretty easy like the pictures in this post.
