If you run across one for a BB I'll be happy to test it for you and get all the bugs worked out.

We ran a Hilborn system with Hilborn mechcanical pump set up by Kinsler on an LS6 block. Was very strong and needed very little adjusting. We also ran a Kinsler dial-a-jet and a electric fuel tank pump.
What info are you looking for? Kinsler is great, their website is a how to manual for injection.

I have seen these converted to electronic injection and have seen people try to run them on the street as is (mechanical). Seems to balky for street use without conversion and would seem to require filtration like the dirt track guys use. These are usually available on ebay, I suspect from older dirt track use. Good luck

Conversion to electronic is expensive ($1K to $2K and Kinsler can do it) and if well thought out and set up not needed. Stack filter/covers are available or an airbox even better....but they ran like a beast and how cool do they look
Obviously I'm a HUGE Kinsler fan, they will take the time to talk to anyone and can set up any equipment, if you are serious and need info, they are the best source I could recommend. During our rebuild/restoration they provided the best free advice and info I could find.

Can you explain the cooling on this set-up (the top hose to block looks very interesting!)

Whats this?

Anyway its a typical race car FI unit set up with water cooling because there is no provision for a water outlet on most racing injections.

Thanks for the info. I've talked a bit with the Hilborn people and priced out some stuff and have been to the Kinsler site too. Just tossing around a couple of ideas. I know those systems aren't cheap by any means......but I have yet to find any full blown means of achieving "speed" that doesn't include lots of $$$$. You're right, they are a very cool looking setup and also have a bit of an intimidation factor to them.

Thanks again.

I now understand the logic - top hose 'split' 4 ways direct to water gallery tappings each end of heads - is that correct

pulling water from all 4 corners of the intake increases cooling and keeps magnesium intake temps consistent with fewer "hotspots"

I was looking for this info when I installed aftermarket heads and Air Gap inlet and was working out all the hose issues - after discussions with a number of people I came to the conclusion that for my engine it wouldn't give any extra benefits - or was I wrong ? Now I'm using a DeWitt radiator cooling dosen't seem to be an issue - although summer is yet to arrive

When this was installed in the 70's the car was running 200+mph in endurance races. I doubt you would have a problem with anything near normal useage

Did that car ever win a race?

Nice photochop, Paranoid. FWIW, I've got a genuine Crower that could be made available; serious inquiries via email only...

From 71 through 76 it ran in 23 pro events with 9 podium finishes and 2 wins. It will be running in HSR and SVRA again in 2010 with a new owner/driver.

How can you sell it? It is a very cool and unique car. Guess everything has a price.
