Default EVAP hose routing on a '75

Hello all. After replacing a front clip on a 1975 roadster, I installed the ECS canister. There is a short hose to the frame rail which is obvious.

I don't remember where (if at all it was hooked up) the long hose attached to?

I'm assuming it hooks onto the manifold or carb somewhere? Anybody have a drawing for a 1975?

Thanks!

Jason

Default ya me too

Hope you find this diagram cause I have some question about this very thing as well on my 80.

I looked up in the cannister area and found the tube coming from the bottom just open to the air and I think the top tube, at least one, is vented to the carb.

I'll be checkin in if i found out anything

It hooks to the vac port at the bottom of the carb in the front. I'm not home at the moment but if you still have the Q-Jet carb on the motor it'll be on the bottom right looking from the radiator. I can take a pic when I get home if you need it.

Not much to it in 75'. Both my 71' and 78' have a vacuum valve on top the canister with a small hose going to the carb.

Thanks a lot everyone. That drawing is right on the money. Where do you get those drawings - from a service manual?

The long hose on this car has a really frayed and dirty end, so I doubt that it has been connected for some time.

Thanks!

The drawing is from the 75' AIM (Assembly instruction manual). If you are trying to restore a C3, the AIM should be the first book you buy. All the Vette parts vendors sell them (about 20 bucks). Each year has a specific AIM so buy the correct one for your year.

Default Evap

Thanks a lot for the help!

I looked at the car last night. Quadra Jet carb, don't know if it's original or not. There were two ports on the front of the carb, lower driver's side. Both of them had rubber boots on them, sealing them off.

No harm in removing the plug and hooking up the canister, I'm assuming?

By the way, can those AIMs be found online (e.g.. PDF) anywhere?

Thanks,

Jason

Nope, just remove the boot and install the vac line. I've never seen the AIM on line, I think someone recently started selling them on a CD though. Maybe Corvette Central or Ecklers.....not sure.

Correct. Evidently the PCV may not hooked up either, that's the other port shown in the diagram.
