What cleaner to use on Jet-Hot coated side pipes?
Can anyone who has jet-hot side pipes recommend a cleaner to use? I have just been using soap and water and some wax. They got some nasty black spots from exhaust leak that may need some cleaner.

I'd like to know this too.... if my pipes ever get here. I ordered them 6 weeks ago and everytime I call I get the "They're on back order, should be another 2-3 weeks."

I was told by a guy at Jet Hot to treat them as aluminum and use
a good quality aluminum/mag wheel cleaner-polish.
I would test the product you choose on a small patch to make sure
it does not discolor on you. I think I used Mothers mag wheel
polish on my headers and it worked well.

I use Mother's Billet polish on mine. For tough stains, I use the Billet polish but apply it with fine steel wool. Works great.
To clean on a daily basis, I steam clean. Sounds crazy but all I do is use a wet towel and wipe the pipes down after I get home and they are still hot. The moisture in the towel turns to steam and cleans off all the stains from just driving around.

Are you guys using a powerball, or just a microfiber cloth? I have just used a microfiber to clean everyonce in a while and it even leaves tiny scratches in the finish.
I bought a powerball and some mag polish (jet-hot guy recommended) but I havent tried it out. I dont want to leave big scratches.

awesome thanks for the replies. Going to give them a good polishing with some mothers mag polishing they really need it. Hoping these little speckles from water hitting the pipes will polish out.

Burning Brakes
I'm bumping this because I'd like more input. Mine are quite a mess from years of sitting and neglect. I'm going to have them recoated by Airborn but I doubt it will happen this summer since I don't want to time out of the 2.5 nice months in MN.

On cooled pipes, I've sprayed some WD-40 onto a shop towel to wipe off the specks of oil or asphalt. Most water stains come off same way. Follow up with a clean shop towel.
I'll have to try the mag-polish and see how that works too.
