Default Using stainless nuts on exhaust manifold studs

Is there any problem with using stainless steel nuts on the exhaust
manifold studs? I want to be able to remove them in the future
without the risk of breaking the studs.
A recent thread mentioned using tall brass nuts.

Stainless will seize too. The only ones I've had any luck with (not sticking) has been the tall brass ones.

For this same application, I've been looking for 3/8 stainless lock nuts for a while with no success. The only stainless ones available have a nylon insert inside (which will melt).

I've used plain steel nuts with a generous application of Anti-seize with no problems several times. After 10 years on my Mustang they came off with no trouble.

I bought a kit once to try and the first one I threaded on started peeling the threads off the stud. I used the studs but threw the nuts away.

Stainless hardware is softer than regular steel, I wouldn't use it on an exhaust manifold. You can twist a stainless bolt off allot easier than a steel one. A generious amount of antisieze as others have said is a better solution.

....I stopped using stainless nuts on exhaust systems because the threads in them stayed so clean it seemed they'd loosen up all the time like header bolts. Ended up loosing a few too, even with using lock washers. I just went back to using the regular steel nuts and a high temp never-sieze on the stud threads and I've never had a problem disconnecting the exhaust systems whenever I need to.

There are Aircraft grade SS hi-temp lock nuts, I think they can be bought cheaper than this site, or I'll sell them to you for $3 each if you want the BEST. link: http://www.jamestowndistributors.com...ight+Lock+Nuts

Dorman long brass 3/8 USS exhaust nuts as 'TimAT' suggested is your best bet. The brass is easily removed and locks tight surprisingly well. Stainless studs are compatible and resist the elements better than steel studs

Went to Advance Auto and purchased the long brass nuts. Only way
I could get them was to purchase kits with the studs and lock washers.
Thanks for the help.
