Default [1974] Headlight switch hissing

When I turn my headlights off, there's a lot of hissing coming from the headlight switch, seems to take about a minute for the headlights to go down.
Is this an expected noise or should I be looking for a leak?

The vacuum part of the switch is bad/leaking/hose loose/etc.

Check the hoses to the switch and see it they are bad. If not; replace the switch.

The hissing could simply be air flowing through the switch as a result of a vacuum leak somewhere else. Do the standard troubleshooting before condemning the switch.

Thats what I was trying to say only not as well. If your going to the trouble of opening the dash I would suggest you have new hose ready regardless and replace them.

Had this problem before.... try switching the vacuum lines on the Aux headlight switch under the steering colum, if that does not work then switch the vacuum lines around on the headlight switch.

hope it works for you also... p
