Tremec TKO-600 speedo gears??
For all the Tremec gurus.....
I've changed my diff ratio from 3.36 to 3.73.
Speedo was quite accurate with the 3.36 diff gears.
I use the cable drive speedo output from the TKO box.
Is there an optional speedo gear for the Tremec to correct my speedo output drive? Or do I need an external device?
If so, what part number do I need?
I have the TKO-600 RR (0.82 OD) box.
cheers

We talked when you were debating what ratio to use. How do you like the new gearset? I think that was what ratio I thought would work real well with your cam and build specs. How is the driveability and throttle response now compared to the 3.36?

Abundance of wheelspin right off idle now, with only part throttle.
(previously required a bit of coaxing with clutch dump and at least 1500 rpm)
Careful use of right foot is necessary on cornering too, as the LSD is locking much stonger than previous diff, and loves to oversteer with throttle control . It will be a real handful in the wet!
I had it out on the weekend for a leisurely sprint through the twisty hills roads I like. Lots of 35~40mph bends with short inclined straights linking them up. Speeds from bend to bend range between 40 to 70mph.
I used to scream along and hold 2nd gear previously, driving the motor hard in the upper power band, as 3rd was not capable of pulling out of the corners, and the change up and down was longer than the time it took to cover the same distance in 2nd.
Anyway, I can use 3rd a lot more now, as there's an abundance of torque to keep motor running sweet.
Point to point times are similar, but less stressful.
Rather than screaming in 3500~6000 range, I now run more in the 2500~4500 range using 3rd gear.
0.82 OD now has me at around 2500rpm at our freeway limit of 65~70mph, so that's OK as well.
The 3.73 gears is definitely what my motor needed to bring it to life.
Traction is the issue now.
