Default Torker II vs Stock Manifolds

hey guys im rebuilding the engine in my 81 vette and I have a TorkerII intake laying around and I am wondering if it would be better than the stock manifold for performance?

On a BB it's supposed to be worth about 25HP, but I'm assuming a cam change was involved.

For a SBC, get a Performer RPM and drop base aircleaner. You will be much happier with the performance.

A high rise dual plane like the RPM is normally used on the street. If a single plane is used, a high rise is better like the Victor Jr.

If you want to try it, state the setup.

Plus, you want to have the matching cam to go with it.

Not much better, if any. This assumes the factory piece is a stinker, which it isn't. The only real benefit will be a slight weight reduction from the aluminum intake if you were replacing an iron intake, but you're swapping aluminum for aluminum. Performance-wise, the small plenum and small runners are designed to build torque below 4k rpm. Other than design, it's not a remarkable performance difference over the factory intake. You certainly won't be worse off by using it.

I have built and sold engines with the torker 2 intake and they have worked great, alot better then stock.I did have to match port the intakes because the runners didnt quit line up too good,go figure, its edelbrock for gods sake.Put it on ,you will like it.Stock engine you may feel a little difference in performance, for the better ofcoarse.I would check port line up first and port match it incase it needs it.And yes there are better manifolds out there to buy.
