Default Sbc stroker hp rating

Guys was bored today watching the kids and was wondering what do you guys think is the max hp a sbc can produce without power adders? I am a back yard mechanic and i know some about engines, but i dont think you can get 700+hp out of a n/a engine. Has anybody seen or read about sbc engine able to produce 700 or more hp.

I have seen a 488 SB motor produce 750 HP. It was pretty much all custom and cost 30K for the motor and was barely streetable. Cubic inches has a lot to do with the power. No way are you going to get a sub 400 inch SB to produce 700 streetable HP NA.

THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING,BUT I DIDNT KNOW FOR SURE WITH ALL THIS TECH OUT THERE,SEEMS MORE AND MORE HP POWER IS BEING PRODUCED EVERY DAY.i JUST WANTED TO KNOW WHAT A GEN 1 ENGINE SBC COULD PRODUCE.

If you add streetable and easy to drive in parades into the equation, it would become very difficult. I think I am 600 + Hp with 427ci small block and will see what the chassis dyno says but I built it to be easy to run on the street. That's the key here.

A 700 + HP small block is easy but expensive and you start to need race gas but it can be done without much effort from and engine builder that knows what he is doing.

I know it's a Ford but my buddy had a 427ci small block Ford on the dyno the last time I was there with comparable heads to mine and slightly bigger cam with higher compression that made 700HP but he was using racing gas.

I have always pegged 650HP for a pump gas small block that you can drive on the street and still have good manners

If you want the extreme, Do a search for MERKEL 511ci Small Block for fun. Runs faster and cost more than a Pat Musi 632 big block

The small block with nitrous runs 6's at over 200MPH in Pro Mod

My Machinist dynoed a 406 @ 715 HP. I seen the run. Final numbers after tuning were 736 HP. Splayed main OEM Chevy block, not a bowtie, 23 degree heads, 14.5 to 1, N/A, Race gas. Good builder.

That is a nitrous motor.
The 406 I refered to is N/A, a stock Gen I 400 block, 2 bolt main modified for 4 bolt billet splayed caps. 736 HP is really pushing it with this block.
Talked to Tim on the specs on this. Callies bottom end, 14.8 to 1 compression, Brodix 10X 23 degree heads, Cam is Solid roller 288 and 294 duration @ .50, 740 Gross lift, 111 LSA. Final Dyno # was 736 Max HP @ 7600 RPM and 665 Max torque. All Motor.
