Default 75 turn signal not cancelling

My turn signal switch will not cancel on my 75, T&T column. I disassembled to the switch, is the horn contact carrier supposed to provide the cancelling function. Would the preload spring hold the horn contact to high for this to work properly? Thanks

Are the cancelling springs intact? Broken springs are the usual cause and are available at your local parts house for a couple of dollars.

Broken cancelling springs are real common. Relatively easy to replace.

I think one of Jim Shea's papers on corvettefaq covers the procedure. Not that bad of a job.
