Default Has anyone used this Camshaft in their Big Block Corvette 10185060

https://www.crateenginedepot.com/sit...0185060-91.htm

Has anyone used this Camshaft in their Big Block Corvette?
Any issues? Anything else had to be changed to use this cam?
Any Vacuum issues? I was told this is slightly a hotter cam made by GM
from the original Camshafts used in Big Block Corvettes.
Thanks

first of all do you have a 1990+ Gen V 454? That cam is extremely wimpy. My best advice to anyone sellecting a cam is to first know what you have and then make an informed decision on your selection of how to improve it.

Default Choose your desired engine usage first...

I agree - plan the total engine package.

Even though it is advertised for the '90 BB's if that is a 220/220 @ 0.050 and I/E lift of .500 cam, then, except for that just a bit lazy 115 centerline, it is indeed a bit "hotter" than some of the factory cams that came in the lower HP versions of the big block... It would probably have a really good vacuum signal at idle and run with hardly any burble or idle roughness... For example, my '73 came with a cam that was lower duration, a 114 LSA and only .440 lift I/E. The XE262H in there is by no means a "hot" cam, but it's OK for 8.5:1 CR and low to medium rpm use only. No high revs would be rewarded with my motor - but OK up to 5000 or so... Now if I ever rebuild the bottom end (or swap in some aluminum heads with smaller chamber volume) with a raising of the CR, then this cam could be a ping-monster and unsuited for the car... So, know your heads, desired CR, other mods and your intent - low-rpm torque machine, high-winding street/track motor or whatever and pick a cam from there. Lots of good cam posts on the forum...
