When I bought my 74 it had no motor. I bought a 75 Corvette motor and installed. After 3 years I am just now installing the power steering pump.

The engine pulleys are from the 75.

I bought a 74 p/s pump and pulley both stock. Well, the pulleys won't line up.

So, I tried to see if the 75 pump and pulley would work. It looks like the pulleys will line up but it doesn't seem like it wants to fit in the space very well.

My question is: Will a 75 pump and pulley on a 75 motor fit in a 74 car?

Or

Should I put the 74 pump in and change out the crank and water pump pulleys to correct the alignment issue?

Is it possible that the issue is the P/S extension pulley on the crank is different from 74/75 and all I need to do is buy a 74 extension pulley like this one?

Not sure about the 74/75 compatability, but I would think they would be the same. Here's a shot of my '75 L48 after I pulled it showing the pulleys. The front pulley on the crank is the ps pulley, then A/C then the Alt.

I just did this last night. There should be three grooves on the bottom pulley. Near the motor is the alternator, middle is the A/C and the outer most is smaller in diameter and goes to the power steering.

The 75 motor has a short water pump on it?
