Does anyone know the thread size on a 1978 seat belt bolt thread...
I just want to be sure...I believe it is 12mm 1.75 pitch
Have to drill out and re tap one of mine...and this was the measurement I came up with...but what do I know...lol

maybe I'm missing the point but if you have to drill it out you wont be able to put the original size in. Therefore you can use any size bolt that is compatible with the closest size tap you have.

Thought maybe I could use a Helicoil Thread Repair Kit M12x 1.75 if that was the correct size...but I'm new to this so I'm open to suggestions...

you didnt mention that, it sounded like you were drilling and tapping only. See the link below your measurement is correct.
