Default Coil Wiring

The wiring diagram I have for a 71 Corvette shows the resistor wire (yellow) that runs from the starter and the hot wire from the key are both connected to the negative coil terminal. I thought that both these wires should be connected to the coil's positive terminal. Which is right?

Thanks in advance.

They go to the pos terminal and the yellow is not the resistor, the other wire coming from the key is the resistor wire.

Funny, I have three wiring diagrams showing the the hot wire from the key and the wire going to the starter are both being connected to the negative coil terminal. However, I do have a link to a fourth wiring diagram that shows those wires going to the positive terminal.

Rodger, thanks for confirming that the three wiring diagrams are wrong. Also, I do know the key wire goes to the resistor. Guess I had a brain fart when I wrote it was the other wire.

Thanks.
