dual snorkel air cleaner?
i've been thinking that i want to go from the 14" chrome open element filter that is on my car now to a dual snorkel filter i've seen on the mid 70's corvettes. are originals still easy to some by or should i go for one of the aftermarket ones from companies like Spectre? any reduction in temperature of intake air will make for a happier engine. i thought about doing an L88 hood and intake system but i think that a regular dual snorkel filter will work just fine for a car that will never see 6k rpms.
the Spectre filter assembly. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SPE-728/?rtype=10
i would really rather have it look factory under the hood but if one is better than the other, thats the way i'll go. i'm a function over form sort.

Yeah, you're really wanting to grab some cold intake air in front of the radiator. The Summit kit look's pretty good, but you can also take a factory air cleaner housing, cut in a couple ovaled 4" collar's and run heavy 4" flex hoses. Done this a couple time's, and work's quite well.

2. I made it, but I also made a mold so as I could make 100 more
and I have been looking for a earlier model, early-mid 70's to see its fit and placement as well...... i need a local ginny-pig...
