stuck proportioning valve
my proportioning valve on my 79 seems stuck is it better to replace it or is there a way to free it up?

the problem seems to be the drivers rear caliper wont bleed even stomping on the pedal. am i missing something? is there a way to clean this thing on the car

If the passenger side will bleed, then it's not the combo valve.
If the dash brake lite is on, then it is the valve and the valve needs to be centered.
If there is sludge in the valve it will probably be stuck.
The only way to clean the valve is to remove it and then remove the proportioning valve from the pressure differential valve. You can then blow out the piston with some air and clean.
You should be able to center the piston by tightening the rear bleeders and loosening a front bleeder and pressing the pedal.

Its not the valve, its the rear hose on the left side. Sounds like it may have collapsed, and is not letting fluid to the caliper. I would remove the the line (before the hose) and see if your getting fluid.
