[PICS] My recent Hit & Run Accident
Me and my Dad are doing all the work ourselves with a little help from one of his friends that owns a body shop. Primarily to save us some money. Our insurance would cover it, but my insurance would go up, and I don't want that. It would be cheaper just to pay to fix it myself. I have got several estimates on the damage. Anywhere from $8500+.
Here are some pics of the damage:

I pay 15 bucks a month for full coverage on my vette thru State Farm. I have it as a classic/historical vehicle driving less than 2500 miles.

Oh The Humanity! :cry
Seriously, keep pressure on the police to do something, take it to court if you have to. Were there any witnesses?
If I were you I'd report it to the insurance company that's why you pay them. If the rates go up switch companies or get better coverage through a classic car insurance company like Hagerty.

i don't know why they can't force the guy that hit you to pay for the damage. it seems very logical to me.

It shouldn't cost over $2,000 in my opinion...including paint. the damage doesn't look like it tore any gaping holes, so just building it up with some bondo fiberglass resin, sanding, then painting should fix everything. Looks like about 20 hours of work...thus at $50/hour it would be $1,000 labor, and then about $1,000 for blending in paint on half the car.
