80 Hood- how to tell if it is warped?
My hood is protruding UP about 1/4 inch along the drivers side fender for a length of ~ 16-20 inches. Tried adjusting the d-side hinge, and hooks- no help.. Any ideas? Is it common to see a hood warp, or distort at this area? Other issues to consider?
I may be able to find a pic and post it...
Your thoughts?
Other than buying another hood to try, i am all out of ideas.

Pictures ..YOUR thoughts?
The BLUE tape is on the fender top -at the hood opening-to show the amount of hood exposed at that point.

Sorry I can't answer your question. Although my 80' hood raises on both sides by the winsheild a 1/4". The rest of the hood fits perfectly. no adjustments had ever been made.
Hope you get an answer.

Has the passenger's side fender been off or repaired? Are there hood alignment blocks in the rain gutter on the passenger's side?
Based on your pics, the fender top is definitely low when compared to the hood. You may have to break the bond along the upper edge of the fender skirt where it bonds to the fender, raise the fender top to meet the hood, then rebond the skirt.

I have seen hoods warp slightly when off of the car. Alot of people will stand it up against a wall when it should be laying on its side edge.
Obviously this doesn't apply to you if the hood wasn't off the car. Just figured I'd mention it.

[QUOTE=Easy Mike;1576853616] Are there hood alignment blocks in the rain gutter on the passenger's side?
Didn't look for this (alignment blocks) but will take a look tomorrow.
The car "appears" to be non-hit all seams look good to me. But, at this point, who de hell knows anymore. Thanx for the input.

Melting Slicks
Take a close look at the contour of your right fender in the same area and compare side to side. I am intimately familiar with those curves right now as I'm prepping the 77 for paint and I think the "swoop" on that left fender looks odd. Might just be a camera angle thing but the curve appears too shallow to me. Also does the rear of the "bad" fender line up with the rear of the hood?

My bad. I thought I was looking at the passenger's side in your pics, not the driver's side.
Regardless of me being turned around bass-ackwards, your problem remains the same: the fender top is too low or the hood is too high.
