Engine ID help
sorry.... I looked in off-topic but couldnt find it. My block is 3970010, so its prob the original. The number in front of the head is V1129 C (or G) KZ. THen theres alittle baby # below it that I cant read ... whats that # mean.. l-48 or l-82?

oh.... did they make 4 bolt L-48's? or only on L-82's.. From old topics I read the only way to check if its a 4 bolt is to take off the oil pan??? How would u know when buying new :confused: or was it just luck :jester

The number below should end with the last 6 digits of your VIN. If the 5th digfit of your VIN is an "L", it's confirmed as originally the L48. If it's an "X", then it would have originally had the L82.
