Melting Slicks
Here is a basic diagram of how I put my harness together. I used 2 seperate harnesses for the left, and right side, I didn't want to risk having a single point of failure.

Gotta love this informative thread ! I ran Hellas back in the 80's with H4 bulbs, loved them. I'm still on the fence because technolgy has come a long way since then. The Hella's had a great cutoff with a steep rise on the right side to illuminate the right side of the road the left side cut off was flat so it wouldn't blind on coming traffic. The "BLUE" bulbs are just tinted and for all intents worthless as they aren't brighter than a untinted bulb. True HID will appear blue at certain angles.
Pattern is as important as brightness. I've driven several newer cars with nice bright projector headlights, but have no range what so ever. The road is really well lit up for 50 feet.
One last thought, I have seen factory wiring melt with the use of performance bulbs, make sure you either upgrade your wiring or keep a close eye on the wiring near the sockets if you go with a higher wattage bulb.

I appreciate your schematic MashMan, it is timely to me as I have the motor out so what better Tim to fix these things. I'm tracking harnesses done, etc. I want to build a small plate that holds the relay bases. I'd like your opinion on best relay and base for the headlight fis. I may use the ls3 crate relay for starter--just want your opinion. I wouldn't mind tips on wire size an tips too. I'm a gearhead that wants to know enough to play with smoke! I know is an old post---thanks for putting it up there. If you haves prints with BOM is
D sure appreciated it! This forum is awesome. C3 guys just seem to have more class than typical muscle cars builders.

Mounted my relays right next to the alternator.
