Will a Small Block Fuel Pump fit a Big Block?
My Fuel pump on my 350 is in excellent shape. The flange looks like it's the same size, is there a huge difference between a small block and big block fuel pump? I'm not getting cheap here, I'd just hate to buy something if I didn't have to.

The pump will fit and it may work OK on the street, but I wouldn't use it. I ran mechanical fuel pumps in the "old" days on my 427 circle track car. One time after putting on a new fuel pump, the engine would starve for fuel at WOT with a single 850 holley. I found out I had put a SB pump by mistake, I replaced it with a BB one and the problem went away. I've talked to other racers since then that had the same problem.
Hope this helps,

I put a new pump on my engine last year The box had a warning notice in it that said for use on Big Block Chevrolet engines only. I didn't have a small block pump to compare though.

Thanks guys. From the description it sounds like the pumps have the same physical dimensions but run at different pressures.
