Default LSX people help. 80 with a 2009 6.0 swap.

I just bought a 2009 6.0 with the 823 heads. Suppose to be good heads. harness and computer for $1900.00 complete out of a 2500 pickup. 53k miles.

Was that a good price?? I plan on doing alot of searching here. but will still ask questions. going into a 81..

So, is the harness any good to me?? the T/B is DBW. is the computer any good to me?? I know I need all F/body front accessories and do I need a fbody computer or can I keep the DBW?? whats best?? I know I need a F/body pan. What am i missing?? Im sure I can put the LS3 intake on right??

Gonna need lots of help as Im going to try and put it all together my self.

Also will a 97-2002 t56 work with this motor??

will post pics asap!!

I forgot to say, The plans are to fit all F/BODY stuff I need to get this to fit. and get it running. Once I know its all good. I will do cam and all mods later. If Im correct, getting headers are an issue with C3's. I will stick with the stock exhaust for now if they fit!!

I think if I was doing the LSx swap in my car I would have went with an aluminum block engine.

That price sounds reasonable for a complete engine. If the alternator, PS pump, etc didn't come with the engine that's going to add a fair amount to the cost. Some people have used DBW throttles successfully.

The best thing to do to find lots of info and avoid asking the same questions that have been asked dozens of times is to search through the LS engine swap mega-thread in the Tech forum and also look on ls1tech.com

True, i agree. But nothing wrong with a small block 6.0 with heads that outflow a BIGBLOCK 454.

I know, but with all the work involved in the swap, i'd want the weigh savings as well.

I am in the process of doing an LS3 swap into my 72. I am keeping the DBW and using the 09 computer. Have not decided on harness but I have all the harnesses and may just knock out the unused wires and reprogram the computer. The T56 and 3.73 gears is great for acceleration and for highway cruising. I have the T56 in my car already and it cruises at 2000 rpm at 75.

That's a really good price, congrats.
Keep the harness, keep the DBW, keep the ECU. If you didn't get the pedal, you'll need one. Dealer cost is typically about $100.
F body accessories WILL NOT fit if your motor has VVT. Check with Kwik performance for correctly spaced brackets that will fit under a corvette hood.
Any f body or corvette pan will work, get the widage tray, pickup, new O ring, dipstick/tube with it.
Not sure on the intake. LS3 intake is rectange port. If your heads are cathedral, you'll need an LS2 intake.
T56 will work. C5s came with 3.42 gear. 98-02 fbody with 3.42 or 3.72. You'll be fine with your current ratio. You'll probably want the standard motor plates (move engine forward 1.25" to get the shifter close to the original location. Any LS1,2,6,7 flywheel/clutch will bolt up.
C5 Z06 exhaust manifolds will fit and flow better than some headers.
If you have DOD, you'll want to get rid of it. It doesn't seem to work well with manual transmissions.
My 02 6.0, truck accessory spacing, 1.25" forward motor plates, LS1 intake, DBW, C5 exhaust, Richmond 6 speed in my 68 convertible.
