Having a bit of an issue removing the fan from the water pump. Took out the air pump and alaternator braces to clean/paint them. Unfortunately, since the belts are off, its a bit hard to take the bolts that retain the fan to the water pump off without the whole thing turning

Any ideas on how I can take the fan out without having to put everything back first? I could position a screw between 2 of the the 4 bolts to prevent it from turning but concerned it might bend/break something.

Yes, and it shouldn't be a problem. Flat screwdriver between the fan clutch shaft & the nut flats, 1/2 inch wrench to loosen the nuts.
