Default Spark Plug Heat Range Question

My question is about the heat range for my engine. I am putting a 383 Stroker in my 72 convertible. Has world II heads withthe larger valves, a .490 lift hydraulic cam. Headman headers, an edelbrock performer intake with a 750 holley vaccum secondaries, bored .040 with 9.5 - 1 compression. I will have a 2800 stall convertor and a bow ties stage 2 2004r trans. Should I run a colder plug then stock? Also what is your opinion on the acel short spark plugs.
Thanks
Rodney

I see no reason to go with a colder plug with that set-up. With 9.5 compression, you shouldn't have any problems with preignition. My 383 is similar in set-up, and I run the standard heat range with no issues at all.

I have used the Accel shorty plugs and have never had any problems with them.
