Name that transmision!
What the heck did I just pick? I know it's a 5 speed but not sure which one and if it will work in the vette. I have a 4 speed now and the two bellhousings are different. The GM part numbers are: on the tail GM3049617 and on the bell housing GM 23049844.
Any help on what it is and what I have to do to install it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Chris
BTW It was free and if it won't work, no biggie.

I love the internet. :mad
You can find more **** than you will ever need but try to locate info on one f'ing transmission and you get a million unrelated websites to sift through and after two hours be no closer to finding out what transmission you have when you have the part number right in front of you. :mad
Need some help please.
Think I got a NV1500 but need to confirm it. If it is then it isn't what I want. O/D ratio is .82 which isn't worth swapping. It came out of a late 80's full size pickup with a 6 cylinder engine.
Thanks again
