Fixed my clutch linkage problem
Since I recently installed a 4-speed in my 82 the clutch pedal has felt rough and would change from one day to the next how hard/far I had to push to release the clutch. After adjusting the linkage for the 10th time I finally saw the problem, the frame bracket for the Z-bar was bent. In fact it was flexing every time I push the pedal.
I pulled the bracket out and straightened it but it bent so easy I new that would not last. So I made a better one...
Installed and readjusted the linkage and its working great now.

Ok, I wasn't expecting orders - just passing along the solution to a problem. But I supposed I could make a couple more. Not sure what to charge, will be at least enough to cover materials. Labor involved would be to much produce for a profit.

You may have a piece missing that may have been causing your problem as well - (as the bracket where yours was bent could never bend with the piece that is supposed to be in there) the piece that goes into the bracket and has a bent tab that goes into the slot below the zbar hole and nut.
That slot (that you didn't add to your bracket) is there for a reason to support the piece mentioned.
I have that piece on my Vette and it protrudes thru that slot on the original bracket. Check out your manuals and AIM.

I did have the part you are refering to, I believe it's purpose was to keep the Z-bar from slipping up out of the bracket if the nut were to loosen. It did little to stiffen the bracket. I removed it and installed two large area washers on either side of the (stock) bracket in an attempt to stop the flexing/bending - it didn't work. My problem is that I installed a Centerforce dual friction clutch and associated pressure plate and it is stiffer than original.

iokepakai, I sent your bracket today. Go Vette Go, parts are cut and I will weld it up in the morning, paint it and send it out Monday. I cut parts for one more, I'll go ahead and make a third if fugawi or anyone else is interested.

2 more brackets shipped today (USPS). Do me a favor guys and post back to this thread regarding how the brackets fit and whether or not it helped your clutch pedal.
Thanks,
Carl

I got mine late this afternoon. Thanks. Terrific workmanship Carl. I have a bunch a parts I am going to powder coat over the winter along with this bracket. I won't be installing it until late March - early April.

This is good old American Capitalism! Keep up the good work. Perhaps you could trademark the plans and sell them to a vendor. Seems like a great problem solver. VBP comes to mind...

When I got about halfway through the OP's post I suddenly thought "man...I bet this guy could sell a thousand of those things!" then started scrolling down and...and...and...EUREKA!!! Not sure what you do for a living, Carl, but you might want to consider quitting your day job!
