Please help if you can!!

Original 81 350ci with 1406, Headers, Vacuum HEI. CCC stuff had been previously removed. Car ran great.

Just upgraded to vortec heads and Performer RPM intake. Nothing else changed. Now if I stab the throttle at 1500rpm, the car nose dives, almost dies, stumbles for a few seconds, then runs like a raped ape. All of this happens within 3 seconds.

I'm guessing it's the carb, but did not think these upgrades would change things this drastically.

Any help is appreciated!!

Sounds like either an accelerator pump or the secondaries are opening to soon, what kind if carb, give any specifics that you can.

I would go over the installation. You might have knocked of one or more of the throttle connections or bent one.

I took the easy way out and traded a guy my carb + $40, and he gave me a Holley 3310-6.

Wow what a difference!
